A tablet must meet all requirements below to qualify for full support:

Recommended specs (best experience)
In addition to the minimum requirements above, we recommend:
HD screen or better
Built-in GPS sensor (required for location-based features)
Built-in microphone (required for voice logs)
Built-in camera (required for photo features in field workflows)
Latest available OS version for your device (preferably no more than 1 major version behind)
Devices without a GPS sensor, microphone, or camera can still run the app, but the related features will not work or will be severely limited.

The following devices currently meet all specifications and are recommended for use with the Field app, provided that all available updates are installed.
We strongly recommend cellular-enabled versions. See the connectivity section below for details.

Your tablet must run an OS version that is still supported with security updates by the manufacturer.

Screen
The Field app is designed for tablets only. Mobile phones and desktop devices are not supported.
Screen size must be 7 inches or larger
Screen resolution must be 768 × 1024 pixels or higher
On smaller or lower-resolution screens we cannot guarantee correct alignment, readability, and usability. Parts of the application may be inaccessible.
Processor
A processor with a clock speed of at least 1.5 GHz is required for smooth operation. Slower devices may result in:
Sluggish performance, lag, and delays when loading or processing data
Freezing or crashing, which can interrupt workflows and may lead to data loss
Inability to use certain resource-intensive features
Connectivity
Cellular connectivity (mobile data) is required. Wi‑Fi only tablets are not supported.
The app can work in offline mode to prevent service interruptions when field agents are in areas with poor coverage. A stable connection is still required for:
Signing in and out / closing a shift
Loading project resources at startup
Data validation
Live features such as team progress and dashboards
Synchronising data gathered during offline mode
Without a connection, the above features will not work or will be significantly slower.
Storage & voice logs (audio recordings)
When using voice logs, the app stores audio recordings locally on the device and synchronises them with our servers when a network connection is available.
Based on an analysis of 100 random voice logs, average usage is approximately:
Audio bandwidth: ~715 kbps per active voice log
Storage growth: ~89 kB/s, which equals approximately 5–6 MB per minute of recording

Make sure that:
Your data plan can handle the expected amount of audio uploads (especially on cellular connections)
Your device has enough free storage to keep recordings until they are successfully synchronised (low storage can cause upload failures)
